Photocopies and transcriptions (?) of correspondence, depositions, and other papers relating to the 1855 imprisonment of Wildes by the Mexican government and his efforts, and those of his heirs, to collect damages from the Mexican government through the United States government. Among the correspondents are Jonathan D. Stevenson (San Francisco), who represented Wildes and his heirs; S. A. Kamp (Red Wing, Minn.), husband of one of the heirs; and Nathaniel Wilson (Washington, D.C.), who also represented the heirs. Wildes lived in California and Nevada.
